2016 Mazda 6 Release Date, Review, Price, Engine – The new 2016 Mazda 6 undeniably comes with a myriad of substantial refreshments over the previous model. With the expected released date coming later in the year, the 6 has always been sidelined, characteristically unable to garner buyers’ attention as willingly as other common competitors.
That’s is an outright shame, since the Mazda 6, 2016 is able to go tire-by-tire alongside other segment’s most popular vehicles in terms of performance dynamics, design sophistication, efficiency and standard features. Moreover, the 6 has been among the most distinctive designs and an attractive sporty demeanor.
Among 6’s fabulous impressions include its bespoke performance and fuel mileage. It comes also comes fitted with an i-Eloop system. It also earns a combined EPA rating of 32 miles per gallon during combined city/highway cruising, which is impressive and places it at the helm of other petrol-fueled mid-size coupes. Even without the i-Eloop system, the 6 still manages a sumptuous 31mpg combined.
Even though the new 2016 Mazda 6 is a fabulous selection for seasoned driving enthusiast, the price you pay might not be worth the stiffer ride you get in return. Despite the praise, the vehicle comes with some downsides, to the advantage of its rivals. A more prominent one is the lack of an upgrade option to a more agile turbocharged 4-cyl or V6 powerplant, however, the Mazda 6 offers one of the best base 4-cylinder engines there is.
Although our bellyache emanating from the Mazda 6 2016 are considerable subtle, there exist other formidable selections in the class. The Nissan Altima and the newest 2016 Honda Accord, both boast a comfortable everyday riding and impressive fuel efficiency ratings. Other capable rivals include Kia Optima, Ford Fusion, Subaru Legacy, and Toyota Camry.

Engine Specs – 2016 Mazda 6
The FWD Mazda 6 for 2016 will derive its inspiration from a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine capable of making about 184 hp and 185 pounds of torque. Both Touring and Sport trims are matched by a either a 6-speed auto transmission system or a 6-speed manual, whilst the 2016 Mazda 6 Grand Touring will only be provided exclusively with an auto.
In our own performance test drive, an auto-fitted 2016 Mazda 6 was able to dash from 0-60 miles per hour in 7.6 sec, quite impressive for a mid-size coupe paired with a base 4-cylinder.
According to EPA, the fuel economy for an automatic-transmission car are 26/38/31 mpg in the city/highway/combined and 25/37/29 mpg with the manual system. However, things get juicer with the i-Eloop feature with the fuel economy skyrocketing to 28/40/32 mpg.
The safety department hasn’t been spared either, as the 6 comes chock full of them. Expect antilock disc brakes, blind-spot monitoring, remote door locking, active head restraints, rear parking sensors, stability control, emergency crash notification, and traction control.
