See, the HR-V is a crossover SUV that blends the refinement and quality of a Honda, styling of a coupe, and the toughness, utility, and space of an SUV. Although the segment is awash with its kind, the HR-V manages to hold its own through offering a class-leading fuel efficiency, refined exterior styling, spacious and versatile cabins, and dynamic driving feel. If prevailing rumors are confirmed true, the refreshed 2017 HR-V will also be offered in three trims – LX, EX, and EX-L – just like its immediate predecessor.
One notable aspect that makes the HR-V appealing is the use of the Global Compact Series platform, which makes it deliver a flexible and voluminous interior space featuring configurable cargo/seating modes. In fact, the HR-V’s space and cargo volume is only comparable to that of midsize SUV offerings. It offers 58.8 cu. ft. of maximum cargo volume and 100.1 cu. ft. of passenger space. And that’s not all. The design of the HR-V is sporty and dynamic courtesy of the powerful, bold tapered face, and coupe-like cabin shape.
The interior matches to the exterior with sophisticated features and sporty layout, complemented by the premium detailing, soft-touch materials, and expansive, airy cockpit. The detailing aspect comprises of up-market piano-black highlights, sophisticated stitch lines, and precise bezels that all combine to offer the newest Honda HR-V 2017 a personalized and refined feel.
Being the tyke of the family relative to the Honda Pilot and the Honda CR-V, the HR-V has proven that it can too match the utility by offering a distinctive ability to take on bulky or long cargo items through the assistance of what Honda calls the “Magic Seat” – a popular feature that was a major highlight of the previous model.
Regardless of the changes the new model is expected to come with, it is not the only model in its class that has improved in leaps and bounds. You’d want to check out at least a few of these competitors before making a decision – the stylish 2016 Fiat 500X and the nicely-packaged 2016 Mazda CX-3.

That said, given the lack of significant design changes, the new Honda HR-V price isn’t expected to change much from the current price of $ 22,965 MSRP. Its release date, on the other hand, should be expected sometime in mid-2017. Don’t be surprised if Honda offers the next model as “2018 Honda HR-V.”

Given the scanty information available for the exterior design courtesy of the heavy camouflage cladding, not much can be said on what should be expected. However, spy pictures reveal the new model will get an aerodynamic front that features multi-reflector headlights and a prominent black grille. As aforementioned, it combines the utility of an SUV with the sleek coupe-like styling to offer a functional, sophisticated and athletic stance.
The exterior visibility is exceptional thanks to the large glass area. It offers excellent front and rear sight lines for the driver – a key feature for the HR-V and a hallmark of Honda design. There’re no rumors of additional colors for the exterior palette, so the existing palette should be expected to carry-over unchanged.
