Although the new BMW 5 Series 2017 is covered in tons of camouflage, a deep investigation of what lurks beneath the vault has been going on, with results confirming that the new model will feature an aggressive M Sport package model. Rumors are also rife that the new model will share the same platform with the next-gen 7 Series which uses the CFRP technology. Safety gizmos will be in plenty on the interior, and a Vision Future Luxury Concept inspiration will feature on the exterior design. A slight reduction in weight should also be expected courtesy of the 7 Series CFRP technology.

The above changes only come to burnish the appeal of an otherwise cool car that has been the leader of its peers ever since it debuted in the market. Our rendering also reveals that the new model will come with s superb handling relative to the previous ho-hum one, and a fixed stop-start system that was subjected to criticism.

In spite of the fact that the BMW 5 Series model has been in the market for quite some time, still there’s hardly any reason to suggest it’s a lame duck in the segment relative to newer and fresher models entering the market in their dozens. It is tremendously well-rounded and offers some of the latest bells and whistles. Similar to the model it replaces, the new model is impeccably refined, comfortable, and spacious. If you ask me, it is a little dissimilar from its hallowed predecessors.

Nevertheless, the new BMW 5 Series suffers from a so-so handling engagement and precision that driving enthusiasts would kill for. But these foibles are insignificant considering the rest of features it offers. One major reason why anyone should consider the 5 Series include a quicker acceleration and a respectable fuel economy even in spite of its massive size. It manages to do 0-60 mph in just 6 seconds flat, and offer 30 mpg for combined city/highway cruising. But at the end of the day, the decision is yours to make particularly considering what its fresher rivals bring to the table.

2017 BMW 5 Series Exterior

There are several dramatic changes on the exterior, at least judging from the spy shots that have been trolling the internet. Although a revolution is miles away, the current design is best described as an evolution. The side panels, engine hood, and front and rear fascias have all been redesigned afresh.

If you’ve seen recently launched Bimmers, the front fascia design shouldn’t then come as a surprise. Chrome surrounds are available for the grille and the headlights, which by the way are slimmer and wider than before, as is the grille. In overall, the BMW 5 Series gains a sportier appearance than before. The apron vents too have been redesigned.

Although much of the interior appointments, and layout design is under wraps for now, nothing flashy should be expected. Considering it’s a BMW, the first thing to expect is perhaps the well-laid out instrument panel. Other features should be available on its release date.
